Philip gives 100% dedication to his part.

Jasmine Main, working Actor. 

Born and raised in North Ayrshire. Philip is half Scottish and half Irish. Philip's pronouns are he/him. Philip is known for his comedic performances and "unique approach" to text as stated by his lecturer Robbie Gordon. Philip has had a passion for the Performing Arts since he was ten years old starting at West Kilbride Theatre. Philip originally did it as a hobby to gain confidence but realised he wanted to do it professionally since high school. Philip found Acting as a way of telling these wonderful stories that are out there. 

 

Philip is currently a neurodivergent Actor & Writer. He studied at the University West of Scotland doing his BA (Hons) Performance getting a First Class where he was a Student Rep. He was previously at Ayrshire College where he completed his HND Acting and Performance where got an A. He was in productions such as Breath, A Chance Of A Lifetime & 4.48 Pyshosis. Philip won Student Of The Year in 2021 at his college graduation in the performing arts sector within the college.

 

Philip attended the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in 2018 doing Acting 1 night class which he completed in 2019. Philip is currently a member of Ayr Gaiety Young Company where he has been a member for four years. In Young Company, Philip has worked with artists such as Robbie Gordon, Ricky Williamson, Eoin McKenzie, Fiona Mackinnon, Chris Alexander, David Goodall, Laura Wooff & Jasmine Main. Philip is currently working with Jade McEwan. Philip has been in productions with Young Company such as VeXD, Open Your Hand, Same As It Ever Was and Thanks For Nothing. In 2022, Philip helped re-launch RAFT as First Draft but later on as RAFT in his last year of university as co-vice president. He helped it become a society to showcase new work made by Performance & students who were not on the Performance course in the University Of The West Of Scotland Ayr Campus.

 

During the first lockdown during his HNC Acting and Performance, Philip discovered that he had a passion for Playwrighting as he found it as a way to express himself through workshops by Ayr Gaiety Theatre in lockdown. Philip worked with Meghan Tyler, Gary McNair, & Maryam Hamidi. Philip wrote his first ever play in HND Acting called Circumstances. Philip also did a filmmaking and writing course in 2020 in Ayr Gaiety with Ruari Barber Fleming and Leyla Josephine.
